Hives, also known as urticaria, are raised, itchy blemishes usually on the skin. They can be red, pink, or flesh-colored, and sting or hurts. In most cases, hives are caused by an allergic reaction to the medication, food, or an irritant in the environment.

Puffy or swollen face, including the nose and mouth. Digestive issues such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Swollen hands, feet, or anus. Swelling in the mouth, throat, or airway makes it harder to breathe.

Home Remedies

You should normally find remedies for hives and swelling so you can avoid experiencing them in the future. Your doctor might recommend some medications for temporary relief of your discomfort and to help you get back on your feet.

A cool bath or shower, the use of loose-fitting clothing, and applying cold compresses can help to relieve hives. An OTC hydrocortisone cream can help relieve itching and swelling. Cut out certain dietary options or drink substances. Reduce exposure to airborne allergen sources.

Switch to detergent and soap items with no fragrances or dyes. Minimize drastic changes in temperature.
